EXHIBIT DATES:

February 4 – April 25, 2025

RECEPTION: Thursday, February 27, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

The Center for the Digital Arts Gallery of the Peekskill Extension of SUNY Westchester will exhibit Kara Wilson’s work, Identity, from February 4 through April 25, 2025. The opening reception will be on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; the public is welcome.

This exhibition features original limited-edition screenprints by Kara Wilson. Kara’s work considers identity through reconstructing archetypes specific to the individual. This abstract work is rooted in an underlying architecture constructed with layers of irregular shapes and symbols. Each element represents traits of a person, how someone could be seen anew through a dream-like lens.

Her visions are influenced by human nature’s inherent ability to qualify, identify, and label for its own needs. Perhaps we can also find comfort and familiarity through reordering. This body of work invites you to look for new connections between spaces and unfamiliar forms.
